ERICA:

The 12 days I spent in Turkey were filled with new and exciting Adventures day after day. Each day I woke up and I was unaware of what was going to happen, but had an open mind to anything our guides- who quickly became much more like family to us- were going to surprise us with. I left Turkey with TONS of pictures, lots of memories, new friendships, and a sense of what lies beyond the comforts of "home". The people I met in Turkey were welcoming and made me feel like I was a long lost friend, rather than a first time visitor. The memories I have are all positive and I could not have asked for any more from the trip and The Red Rose Foundation. Thank you to everyone who helped to make it possible.

THANIEL:

The cuisine of Turkey was delightful. Appetizers would be something like salad. For the first dish, there would be soup. Second dish, there would be sometimes some vegetables, some chicken or rice, and some lamb, sometimes sliced carrots, and some dolma, which is rice wrapped in grape leaves. It's very non-spicy. Then there'd be something especially delicious like baklava, which is a Turkish pastry. At one house we had really good chocolate cake. Afterwards, there'd be some tea with two sugar cubes. I REALLY love the sugar cubes!!! Mmm-mmm-mmm! I miss Turkish food a lot...
